I watched the Thanksgiving Day parade yesterday and was surprised to hear that it was the third time in its history that snow fell in New York City during the event. What a treat! It is amazing the difference a few degrees can make.
There is something special about the end of November. It is a time when we have the best of both worlds. It is the time to make the official switch to our winter coat and enjoy a walk in the crisp fresh air. It is also the time to enjoy a hot drink indoors.
Several books celebrate this special time. Here are my picks:
Who Goes There?
by Karma Wilson and illustrated by Anna Currey
A cozy story of friendship combining the best of both worlds. Beautifully illustrated
written and illustrated by Peter McCartey
The simple pleasures this beautiful season brings are gathered together in this story illustrated in fall tones
Those Darn Squirrels fly south
